Nothing like a little bit of random today, right?
{1} Since I've lost around 30 lbs. most of my clothes are WAY too big right now. Which leads to two problems (both of which are good to have) .... one, I have to buy new clothes. I am cheap. Thank goodness for Goodwill. (#Goodwilldoesitagain anyone?) Two ... I am kinda a hoarder. AND I am planning on having another baby, so I figure some of the bigger clothes would be good maternity/postpartum pieces. Which leads to me being selective and boxing some things up in totes for the time being.
{2} Other than going to Goodwill on my lunch break, I run errands. Today I decided to fill up my car with gas even though I still had a quarter of a tank. Take that, hubby {he is always getting on to me for letting it get empty and practically running on fumes.}
{3} Life has been so, so busy lately, which I love and hate. We had invites to THREE events that all overlapped on Saturday ... and my cousin's wedding is what won out. I still sent little gifts to the others, of course. This coming weekend is my town's annual labor day festival and another dirty thirty party. And of course we are working working working in our basement right now since we'd like to finish it this year and all.
{4} After a couple weeks of GORGEOUS and cool weather, it's now hotter than the hinges of Hades. I just want to get outside and run! Another cool down had best be on the horizon. I am signing up for a 5K the first weekend of October {which is actually the first 5K I ever ran!} and will be devoting a decent chunk of time to training so I can get a really, really good time.
{5} I'm in week three of the four week Gamma cycle of T25. Overall, I love this program and think it's great but ... I'm ready to run again! I'm thinking T25 will go into my rotation for strength work during months I run, but I'll likely go through the program again in the colder months. I do have Les Mills PUMP and am hoping to start it when it cools down later this year ... so November?
{6} Earlier this week, the hubs told me he thought he could see the tops of my abs ... EEK! With that being said, my diet has sucked over the past couple weeks and I can feel the bloat. So one of my friends and I are going to do a little one-week clean eating challenge in a couple weeks. We are still working out the details, but if you want in, let me know!
{7} We didn't have football at my high school. Well, they do now, but not when I went. Well, our niece cheers and wanted us to come to the game last week. So, Cooper and I got to experience our FIRST high school football game together :)
{8} Look what we found in the convenience store one night <3.
{9} I decided to subscribe to the Happy Mommy Box last month and was not disappointed. I'll definitely be doing this one again!
Happy holiday weekend!

Two and three quarters
The 23rd still makes me so nostalgic even though we don't count Cooper's "months" anymore. I'm trying to update quarterly, so it's time for Cooper Lately.
Probably the biggest change is how vocal he is. My cousin who has 2 kids older than Cooper watched him some over the summer and commented on his vocabulary, saying she feels he is very advanced. Taking him shopping is a hoot now --- we constantly hear "I like this." Ha!
Speaking of my cousin and the summer schedule - our babysitter had to briefly shut down and should be opening again soon, but we've been in flux with the babysitter, relying on my cousin and niece, and for the past couple weeks, he's been in a new {temporary} daycare. Thankfully he's doing well with all the transitions.
Potty training is still going pretty well, although there are little accidents here and there. More so at the new daycare, but I think it's more a result of being busy and not thinking about it. {You may not want to read this if you have a weak stomach, but Cooper likes look at his poop and almost always says "Wow, it's big!" HA!!!}
I think Cooper could count if he really wanted to, but he's difficult. And loves the number 8. So usually it's "1-2-8!" Although sometimes he does shock us and actually say 3. Oh well.
Cooper remains a daddy's boy and wants to be just like him. If J has his shirt off, C has to take his off. Ha! Most every night, C helps daddy feed the horses and has to carry Mama Horse's bucket and dump it. Then he and J swing for a bit before coming inside.
Naps vary. We need to be stricter about them on the weekends. Same for bed - it's hard to get him to go down. Around 9:30 we head in to his room with Daddy/Coopy horse and Mommy puppy. {Yes, we crawl and make the animal sounds.} We then sometimes read a book {and yes, Cooper absolutely loves to read!} then lay down. I have to sing the "Spider Song" and "Twinkle Star" then he and daddy lay down. J has to remain in the room until Cooper is asleep.
Sometimes I think you could be a vegetarian, as you love salad and veggies. Here lately you have been liking meat though, and I crack up because EVERYTHING is a hamburger. You still really like yogurt and toast. Most mornings you ask for "peanut butter toast" but you actually want jelly. Here lately you have liked to dip bread in gravy as well. You are a big fan of milkshakes too :) You recently went through an obsession with Oatmeal Cream Pies, and you call them "Papa cookies" because you always share them with your Papa Sam when you go to their house.
You do great on your pedal tractor and can even go backwards on it!
Cooper really likes to cheese for the camera. He sees one and says "CHEESE!" Typically then he has to take our photo and say "Mommy turn!"
If we are all together, he'll hug hubby and I and say "my family." And my heart melts, yes.
Daddy & I are Big Brother fans and so are you. You dance along with the intro mimicking them and it's hilarious. Yes, I have taped it.
Other TV shows you really like are Mickey, Curious George, Lightning McQueen, Turbo, Ninja Turtles and all of the Sloth {Ice Age} movies. Last night you were swimming and saying "claw, kick" just like Diego in Ice Age!
You like to color and play with sidewalk chalk. Cooper likes to kick the ball and play "soccer" and we are teaching him how to tackle with football.
You still call yourself Pooper. Haha.
I have no idea what your height & weight are, but you seem to be getting so tall. In fact, you almost need a 3T pant for the length, but they are huge in the waist. Which is why grandma puts suspenders on you, lol.
You really love playing with your friends, and doing things like swimming. And jumping. You jump on your bed most every night.
You are still a thumb sucker. I am desperate for a way to break this habit.
You always have to help. Whether its doing dishes, loading things or another task, you want to feel needed.
I cannot believe we are only 3 months from turning 3. EEEK!

Weekend recap {parade and meeting the turtles!}
Is Wednesday too late to post a weekend recap?
We did a couple of fun things with the Mister over the weekend so I wanted to put them up here for posterity's sake if nothing else.
I guess I can start out with the usie of my little friend who stopped to visit at work on Friday afternoon :)
Friday night I was wiped out, but got in a quick workout. We wanted a lazy movie night and picked up pizza. {Yes, I do see the irony in sweating it out only to eat pizza but hey, I work out so I can eat.}
Saturday morning we went to the parade for the rodeo. It isn't a big one at all, but there are lots of horses so we knew Coop would like it. Following the parade is a little festival, where we paid entirely too much money but he got to ride a pony, see some daycare friends, jump in the bounce house, ride a train, and have so much more fun.
A local store had Raphael and Donatello there over the afternoon and we only had about 1.5 hours to burn, so decided to just stop and grab lunch then head to the store.
Cooper loved Raph...
But wasn't too sure about Don ....
Then we headed home for naps and to get ready for my big night meeting Bret.
Fun times! I love doing stuff like this on the weekends, but it makes my Sundays seem SO BUSY with all the housework and laundry piling up.

we ride again
On Saturday, we headed back out to the rodeo grounds. One of my buddies had given me some passes {read: gets you anywhere you want to go!} and my BIL & SIL kept Cooper in exchange for us bringing their daughter home at the end of the night, so out we went!
Hubby wanted to see some good rodeo. I mostly wanted to see Bret Michaels.
We both won.
The rodeo ended with a 93 point bull ride that was awesome.
Oh, and I also got to reconnect with one of my best friends from high school. We watched the concert from the chutes (behind the stage.)
We also had a little beer. Oh, OK, a lot.
You know what they say about beer, right? The best kind is free and cold. This was both.
It was a great time and I'm already ready for 2015!

Yeehaw! It's rodeo time!
As I mentioned in yesterday's post, we went to the rodeo last night! It was so much fun - for the first time in awhile, I really enjoyed the rodeo, and I think it's because Cooper enjoyed that and the clown acts so much.
Because, you know, since I turned 21, the rodeo has been more about the Coors :)
Anyhow, we got all dressed up and had some fun before leaving the house.
Once we got to the Rodeo Grounds, it was sprinkling a bit which was a major bummer. Thankfully, it was light and finished up before the big event began.
The clown acts are always a hoot. This year they had a new specialty act which was really cool. And the biggest draw? BULLFIGHTING! They haven't had this at the rodeo for the past 14 years (I think) but brought it back this night only.
Cooper was super stoked because his best friend (in his words) was sitting in the box on one side of us, and his other friend, Payton, was on the other side. We also brought his PaPa and Grandma as reinforcements. (And so hubby and I felt better about drinking with our 2.5 year old!)
Wrapping up the rodeo there is always a concert, and Josh Thompson performed. My little man even got to ride in on the tractor pulling in the stage <3. It was almost 11:15 before the concert started, however - not only was Cooper getting tired, but we both had to work today. So we stuck around for a couple songs (knowing it would be another half hours AT LEAST) before he got to the hits and then hightailed it to the truck to head home. It was a late night, but so much fun.
Now I just have to talk hubby into taking me back on Saturday to see Bret Michaels.

Midweek randoms
How is it already Wednesday? It's been a crazy busy week, but I like it that way!
Pin It
- Today kicks off our town's big annual 4-day rodeo. It's put on by a great group of guys who give back all of the proceeds to the community, including the institution where I work :) So I wore my rodeo shirt to work today.
- We are going to the big event tonight. Which I'm sure means work will be torture tomorrow, LOL!
- I had a 5K over the weekend, so took last week off from T25 to focus more on running (I couldn't train and do Gamma, it was way too intense!). I meant to start back on Monday, but didn't get home until late and honestly, this is a crazy week, so I'm just doing my own thing, which is much more low-key and will probably include lots of lunchtime walks :) I've also been doing more workouts from my Skimble app. Love it!
- Speaking of the 5K ... I went in with hopes of finishing in less than 26 and crushed that goal. So obviously, the goal for the next one is under 25.
- I hit a pretty big weight loss goal last week (I want to lose about 5 more lbs. then maintain for the most part) so naturally, the hubs sent me flowers. Good job!
- We went to one of Cooper's friends birthday parties over the weekend and he had a blast! They haven't seen each other for about 8 weeks due to the babysitter debacle, so I think they were glad to be reunited.
- August is going to be SUCH a busy month. Rodeo parade/rodeo concert (hello, Bret Michaels!) is on Saturday, then we have a 55th wedding anniversary next weekend, a wedding the next, and finally Labor Day the last weekend of the month. Can't believe it feels like the month is practically over already and its only the 6th!
