Five on Friday

{1} Super excited for the weekend! This morning, I got an email that we are closing at 3. And of course off Monday for Labor Day. Yay! I've been going about 128 miles per hour since coming back after vacation, so I'm very excited for a day off!

{2} Tonight and tomorrow will consist of tons of fun and yummy food! My (very small) hometown is doing its fair! Cooper is in Tiny Mister tonight, then we'll be heading back up tomorrow for the parade. It's so hot here, that I'm considering hanging out at my parents' house during nap time then hitting a family member's pool.

{3} I've done so much work in Excel this week, my head is spinning. Have I ever mentioned that I HATE Excel, too?

{4} While shopping at TJ Maxx last weekend, I found this football jersey, in Cooper's size, in the clearance section for only $7. Directly in my cart it went!

{5} Last weekend, we went to a birthday party and they had a fun bounce house there. Cooper loved it, so now I'm thinking of buying/renting one for his birthday party.

Have a great weekend :)

Michelle Lately

Wow. August is practically over and I'm just now sitting down and writing my third blog post of the month. What is going on here?!?!?!

So in typical fashion, I figured I'd do a big bulleted/photo dump to serve as a reminder of what's been going on the past few weeks.

  • I had my big groundbreaking last week and it went over great! Nevermind the fact that at 6 p.m. Monday we had to move it indoors, offsite because it was a muddy mess and just wasn't safe! Thankfully it went off without a hitch.

  • Oh, did I mention hubby and I spray painted the shovels in our school colors to look all purrrrty for the groundbreaking? It was nice, but I'm never, ever, ever doing it again. I missed out on a lot of sleep doing it.
  • Somehow, my son is about to be 21 months old {tomorrow}. Wow. I've missed out on updating his last couple of months, so expect a REALLY long update.

  • This kid is seriously my life.
  • Rodeo in our town has come and gone. My husband {and his friend, Sam} have a really odd sense of humor.
  • One of my best friends is engaged. YAY! I'm so excited for her Cali wedding next spring.
  • My cousin does roller derby, so we went to a match last weekend. I'm still figuring it out. Of course, Mr. Cooper got to visit with one of the mascots :)

  • Our phone weather apps were being really weird one day this week. It definitely was NOT 124 degrees - or even close to it.

  • This has been a very, very odd August. Very wet and mild. I suppose that's great for my utility bill, but by golly, I was hoping to get in a swimming pool at some point this summer!
  • My weekends in October are pretty much all booked by now, and I don't like it. I have a basement reno to finish by mid-November!
  • Thank goodness for the carseat while I was on a coffee run this morning :) The new place in town doesn't have trays yet, so I had to improvise to get four drinks back to the office.

Silly boy

This is SUCH a fun age for Cooper. Even though he may have quite the little personality, {and sassiness} he cracks me up.

Right now it's imitation time. Coop tries to do just about everything daddy and I do.

But I have no idea where he learned this?!?!

Yes, mommy has monkey toes too. But not in front of him!

Happy Tuesday!

Back to life

... Back to reality!

Heading to work with my nugget this morning :) He wasn't happy to wake up before 8 a.m.
So while I was on vacation I more or less unplugged. It was fabulous.

I've really enjoyed the past 10 days. Thankfully, I'm coming back to work at a busy time so the day has flown by. In fact, I can't believe I've only got 25 minutes left.

Also very thankful to be back to working 8 to 5. Those summer hours are rough.

I'm hoping to post some about what we did during our time off soon. Honestly, it was pretty much 10 days of relaxing and just what we all needed. In fact, one 2 p.m. rolled around today I was ready for my nap!

For now, I'm going to work on cleaning off my desk, since it does look like a bomb may have exploded or something.

Until tomorrow!
